Popularly known as Lada Nova in Europe, Lada Riva is a medium sized family cars that came out of the factory of AvtoVAZ, a Russian car manufacturer. The car was first introduced in the year 1980 and is known to be the restyled version of an old car VAZ-2101 launched in 1970. The car has been one of the most popular cars in Russia and Egypt. So far the car has made the record sales of 13.5 million till 1997. The company has stopped the car production between 2010 and 2012 in Russia but in Egypt Lada 2107 remains in production.

In 1966 the car was launched by the name Datsun 1000 that soon became a craze around the globe. The company has by far sold 16 million units and done 10 improvements since its launch.

The car was originally sold for less than $1000 which, as the sales roared, turned into less than $300 in 1920s. The car was named as “Car of the Century” in December 1999. In the span of 19 years the car sold almost 16.5 million units that is much more than the sales figure of most car companies over decades. In spite of being out of production for 87 years the car still managed to get a place in the top selling cars of the time.

Corsa was launched in the year 1982 and produced by the German company Opel. It has by far sold 18 million units of its five generations in the span of 32 years. Its latest fifth generation model was launched at Paris Motor Show in October 2014. The car has never been sold in US or Canada, in spite of marking its presence all over the world. Opel has adopted a German slogan for promoting its car “Wir Leben Autos” which means “We Live Cars”.

Produced and introduced by AutoVAZ in the year 1970, VAZ-2101 is a compact sedan family car. The car was nicknamed as Kopekya meaning a “Small Coin”. VAZ-2101 is said to be the re-engineered version of Fiat 124 and was widely used in the European countries. The car was produced until 1988 and till 1982 no improvements were made in the car. So far, in the span of 18 years of its production the car has sold 19.5 million units.

Originally Golf was deigned to succeed Beetle but instead became another best seller from Volkswagen along with its predecessor. In its life span of 46 years, 40 million units has been sold till year 2013 throughout the world and continuously making new records.
