It was Harivansh Rai Bachchan (Amitabh’s father) who had chosen the penname Bachchan instead of Srivastava. Not only this; his first name was also not the first choice of his father. His father wanted to name him Inquilab (revolution) but later decided to go with Amitabh (unending brilliance).

Though in many movies of Amitabh he has been shown using left hand more than his right one; a few only would know that he is ambidextrous actually.
