Mostly he has played the role of a father filled with religious value and morals. Suddenly during the last week of December 2013, jokes and memes on Alok Nath started trending based on the roles played by Alok Nath in the social media. According to rumors, it all started as a result of a joke cracked by Comedian Kapil Sharma in an award show targeting Alok Nath. Maine Pyaar Kiya is an Indian romantic Love story, released in the year 1989 starring Salman Khan and Bhagyashree. Alok Nath as Karan played the role of Babuji (father) of Suman (Bhagyashree). Both of them lives in a shanty house in a village until Karan decides to travel Dubai to earn money and leaves Suman at his childhood friend Kishan Kumar’s home. Suman and Prem (Salman Khan), son of Kishan falls in love with each other. However, the relationship is accepted by Prems’s mother but opposed by his father. After a lot of twists, turns and melodrama the couple gets acceptance from everyone, including Karan and Kishan.

Taal Released in the year 1999, the movie was directed by Subhas Ghai and is a musical romantic movie starring Aishwarya Rai, Akshay Kumar and Anil Kapoor. The movie received a lot of accolade in foreign but was a moderate hit in India. Alok Nath here played the role of Mansi’s (Aishwarya Rai) father named “Tara Babu”. Alok Nath acted as a musician and supports his daughter to get along with the love of her life Manav (Akshay Kumar) but is insulted badly by Manav’s family. Both Tara Babu and Mansi get support from Anil Kumar (Anil Kapoor), who is a music director in Mumbai, and helps Mansi become a Music Star. At the end, finally Mansi and Manav get together whereas Tara Babu and Jagmohan Mehta (Amrish Puri) Manav’s father also patches up.

The debut movie of Aamir Khan and Juhi Chawla was released in the year 1988 with its story inspired by Romeo and Juliet. Alok Nath played the role of Thakur Jaswant Singh who is a village farmer. The story in the movie rounds about two families which are bitter enemies. Young Aamir Khan as Raj and Juhi Chawla as Rashmi, both belong to the feuding families, fall for each other. Aware the bitterness in the families, both of them elope and lives in a deserted castle. When families get to know about the whereabouts of two of them, gets into a fight. Rashmi gets shot and dies, after which Raj also commits suicide, for he does not want to live, separated from her.

The movie centers round a newly married couple Radha and Gopal (Shah Rukh Khan). Gopal was an orphan who was brought up by Dev. Gopal starts suspecting his wife for having a relation with her best friend Suraj (Salman Khan) who is a popular singer. Later, Gopal realizes his mistake and asks Radha to come back to his life.

The movie is about a family having two sons as Rahul (Shah Rukh Khan), the foster son and Rohan (Hrithik Roshan) the real son of Yashvardhan Raichand (Amitabh Bachchan). Rahul falls in love with a middle class girl Anjali (Kajol), whose father’s role is played by Alok Nath as Babuji. Their love is not accepted by Yashvardhan and disowns them. The movie goes around the life of Poonam (Amrita Rao) who is an orphan and is brought up by his Uncle Krishnakant (Alok Nath) who is an epitome of father to her. Poonam gets engaged to Prem (Shahid Kapoor) and the story continues outlining the courtship period of Prem and Poonam. Their love is tested when an accident occurs and Poonam gets heavily burnt. Despite of the injuries Prem decides to marry Poonam and both of them gets married at the end of the story.
